VP of Sales Operations – Biologics

Our client is an innovative biologics company focused on advancing regenerative therapies and wound healing solutions. Their expanding portfolio includes next-generation skin substitutes and cellular/tissue-based products (CTPs) designed to drive better patient outcomes and provider efficiency. As they continue to scale nationally, they are seeking a commercially minded and operationally skilled VP of Sales Operations to lead their next phase of growth.

 

Position Overview:

The VP of Sales Operations will drive commercial success while optimizing internal systems that support product distribution, customer experience, and field execution. This executive will bring deep expertise from the biologics or skin substitute space -ideally with a background in launching and scaling national sales teams and managing complex distribution partnerships in a regulated environment.

This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring leadership across sales performance, national accounts, operations, logistics, and reimbursement alignment. The ideal candidate has led large-scale distribution efforts and understands how to balance growth with compliance, service, and profitability.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead the national sales team, driving adoption of biologic products across hospital systems, wound care centers, surgical practices, and specialty distributors
  • Develop and execute sales strategies by market segment: outpatient, inpatient, ASC, and DME/HME channels
  • Oversee key accounts, GPO/IDN partnerships, and strategic customer acquisition
  • Build a culture of accountability, education, and customer-centric selling

Commercial Operations

  • Oversee all aspects of field operations, from order fulfillment and logistics to CRM utilization and training
  • Implement KPIs, sales forecasting tools, and pipeline visibility across the commercial team
  • Ensure seamless coordination between sales, customer service, reimbursement, and regulatory teams
  • Refine field-facing processes to optimize coverage and improve response times

Distribution & Supply Chain

  • Manage national and regional distribution partners, including inventory levels, compliance, and contract negotiation
  • Lead operational improvements that reduce cost-to-serve and improve fulfillment times
  • Align with manufacturing, warehousing, and 3PL partners to ensure product availability and traceability

Market Development & Execution

  • Stay informed on CMS, private payer, and ASP policy changes impacting biologics and skin substitutes
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Clinical teams to support education, KOL engagement, and reimbursement support
  • Guide market expansion strategy into adjacent specialties or care settings

 

Requirements:

  • Min. 10+ years of commercial leadership in biologics, regenerative medicine, or advanced wound care
  • Experience managing national sales teams and large-scale distributor relationships
  • Strong understanding of reimbursement dynamics in skin substitutes and CTPs
  • Operational track record in scaling processes across logistics, field ops, and customer success
  • Comfortable navigating CMS, ASP pricing, and policy implications
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, strategic thinking, and a “builder” mentality
  • Ability to travel as nationally as needed

 

Offering:

  • Base $250,000 – $350,000 + Variable = $1M+
  • Expenses for travel, benefits, auto
