Regional Sales Manager – Surfacing, Shading and Recreation

Representing some of the best brands in the industry, our client is one of the largest, leading manufacturers of outdoor sports & recreation equipment. They are seeking to hire a Regional Sales Manager responsible for mentoring and developing a team of sales representatives within the region. The Manager will develop and implement strategies to assist and guide the team to over achieve their goals. The team works and builds relationships with Architectural Contractors, Landscape Contractors, Builders, Housing Complexes, Schools/Education (Day Care, K-12+), Fitness Facilities, Recreation Centers and Retail. In this role, you will support the consistent implementation of key initiatives to secure business development opportunities, increase revenue and promote growth.
Responsibilities:
- Mentor and coach a sales team with an assigned region
- Manage the development and performance of the sales team
- Develop and oversee strategic sales plans to increase sales revenue
- Create and implement sales processes and procedures
- Drive sales, efficiencies and promote growth within region
- Maintain and build client relationships; new and existing
- Monitor the Sales team’s sales activity, analyze and report KPIs
- Collaborate with leadership to develop sales best practices
- Keep well-informed of available products/solutions, competitors, market trends
- Attend trade shows, conferences and events
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
- Min. 3+ years B2B Sales Management experience with playground industry required
- Experience targeting schools, government (parks and recreation), construction and/or architects required
- Seeking backgrounds related to surfacing, playgrounds, amenities and construction (outdoor), sports, lighting, shading etc.
- Experience mentoring and developing a sales team
- Ability to initiate and build relationships with key decision makers
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and CRM
- Leadership and Relationship Management skills
- Excellent Communication skills
- Ability to travel within region as needed
Offering:
- Base to $120,000 (based on experience)
- Year 1 @ plan to $155,000
- Expenses (car, gas & phone)
- T&E expense package
