Direct Gives Back – Jersey Cares – Backpack Drive 2018

Deborah Bruno is the President of DirectHR/ Direct Sales Recruiting, LLC (www.directhr.com) and she started “Direct Gives Back” as part of the company’s goal and mission to give back to the community.  The decision of which group to support is determined by the members of Direct Sales Recruiting, LLC.  The criteria is that it must be a non profit and local to give back to the New Jersey communities.  We try to focus on local outreach programs.

Direct Sales Recruiting, LLC has partnered with the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Lupus Foundation, Morris County Food Bank and the VA Hospital in the past.

This fall, we have partnered with Jersey Cares (www.jerseycares.org) to contribute and volunteer with their Backpack School Drive. The idea of the Backpack Drive was organized by Jamie Presley, and the entire DSR Team purchased backpacks and the company donated  the materials needed in each of the bags.

Jersey Cares, a nonprofit organization, established in 1993, recruits and engages volunteers in rewarding, effective efforts that address community-identified needs. We partner with local nonprofits to identify needs and implement volunteer projects to meet these needs. We provide individuals, families, corporate employees and community groups with a wide variety of volunteer opportunities that range from tutoring children to painting new murals in schools. Jersey Cares is an affiliate of the Hands on Network, an innovative alliance of volunteer catalysts throughout the world.
June 1st-August 22nd.

Each year, thousands of New Jersey children attend their first day of school without basic educational tools such as backpacks, notebooks and calculators. These under-resourced children struggle to succeed academically. Jersey Cares works with dozens of schools, children‘s shelters and community centers with the goal that no children in New Jersey will have to experience a first day of school without these basic necessities. With your help, we can bridge the gap between disadvantage and academic success.
