Our client is a construction company that focuses on outdoor recreation. They are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Associate who will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations, including customer invoicing, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and month-end accounting activities. This individual will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the timely processing of accounting transactions.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses strong analytical skills, and thrives in a collaborative environment. Experience with QuickBooks is required.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process customer invoices accurately and timely
  • Monitor accounts receivable, apply customer payments, and assist with collections
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
  • Reconcile company credit card transactions and employee expense reports
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Prepare journal entries as assigned
  • Review financial data for accuracy and completeness
  • Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal departments regarding accounting matters
  • Assist with vendor setup and maintenance
  • Support audits by providing requested documentation
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • Min. of 2-3 years of Accounting experience
  • Required experience using QuickBooks in a professional business environment
  • Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general accounting principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and data analysis
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team

 

Work Environment:

  • Full-time, in-office position
  • Monday through Friday
  • Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm (30-minute lunch)
